Encryption
National Insurance numbers, HMRC tokens, Government Gateway credentials and MFA secrets are encrypted in the application with AES-256-GCM.
Passwords
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt.
Sign-in
Two-step sign-in with an authenticator app is optional. It can be made required for the staff of a practice organisation.
Audit trail
The application keeps an append-only audit log. Its code has no update or delete path for it.
AI
- Document images, spreadsheet contents, bank statement lines, CSV rows and questions typed into the Tax Expert chat are sent to AI services. Transaction details (description, amount and supplier) go with them.
- A quarterly update cannot be sent while a transaction in that period is unconfirmed.
- Auto-approve is optional and off unless you turn it on.
This website
This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads nothing from other websites. It remembers your theme and motion choices, and that you have seen the opening animation, in your browser storage on your device only.
