MTD ITSA Income Tax quarterly update

A sole trader checks the quarter, runs the readiness checks and submits the second quarterly update. HMRC's test service accepts it.

Recorded in HMRC's sandbox, which is HMRC's test service, with test data. The app's sidebar still shows its earlier name, Tiraverse MTD. The MTD ITSA Income Tax clip runs on a set date and the VAT clip uses HMRC's 2017 test quarter.

What the recording shows
  1. Connect the HMRC account.
  2. Open the 2026-27 quarterly summary and pick quarter 2.
  3. Check the income and expense totals.
  4. Submission readiness shows three checks passed: transactions exist, all categories confirmed, fraud prevention data collected.
  5. Submit to HMRC's test service. The page shows the update as accepted by the test service.
